The Simply Gilded box is a curated kit, not a sample bag. Each month our designers build one theme end to end — exclusive washi tape, a coordinated sticker kit and our signature refillable pen — so the contents layer perfectly together the moment the box opens.
Themes retire when the month closes, which keeps every kit a limited edition. Domestic shipping is included, and extras from the current theme are released separately for subscribers who want doubles.

Why The Layer Sits Flat
After a decade of printing, cutting and testing tape, we standardised our specification so rolls from different collections still stack cleanly. Low-relief hot-stamp foil keeps the surface flush, and our adhesive is tuned to lift once from smooth planner paper without tearing the sheet.

Our Story
A Small Studio, A Shimmering World
Simply Gilded began with one designer, Irene, and a stubborn belief that everyday paper deserves a little shine. Today a small team of artists develops every pattern in-house — drawing, colour-matching and proofing each roll before it is approved for production.
That hands-on process is why our community trusts us with their journals, planners and keepsakes: we know exactly how our tape prints, how the foil behaves and how a set will look side by side on a page, because we test it ourselves before it ever reaches a customer.

How To Build A Simply Gilded Page
A repeatable three-step method our designers use for spreads, envelopes and gift wrap.
1. Anchor With Paper
Start with a 15mm washi base along one edge. Matte paper tape gives ink something to grip and keeps the composition grounded.
2. Frame With Film
Add a translucent PET strip over the join. Because the film is clear, the pattern beneath stays visible and the seam disappears.
3. Finish With Foil
Close with two or three diecut foil stickers in the same colour story. Odd numbers read as intentional rather than decorative.

Frequently Asked Questions
Washi tape is made from Japanese-style rice paper: matte, easy to tear by hand and receptive to gel pen or pencil. PET tape uses a thin polyester film that is glossy, clear or semi-clear and needs scissors. We use washi for base layers and journaling, and PET for translucent overlays, frames and windows.
Core washi rolls are 10mm and 15mm wide at 10m per roll. Wide-format, scallop and ruffle diecut rolls run 20mm to 30mm, and PET rolls are typically 15mm to 25mm at 5m. Exact width, length and foil finish are listed on every product page.
Our low-relief hot-stamp foil sits flush with the paper, so rolls stack without ridges and unfoiled areas accept gel pen and pencil normally. Holographic and glitter finishes are sealed to reduce flaking when a strip is repositioned.
